Drumheller man is killed in sin­gle ve­hi­cle rollover near Clive, Al­berta early Friday morn­ing

Charges have been laid against the driver of a ve­hi­cle in­volved in an ac­ci­dent which killed a 23-year-old Drumheller man near Clive, Al­berta, early Friday morn­ing.

At 12:34 a.m. on July 29, Black­falds RCMP re­sponded to a “se­ri­ous” mo­tor ve­hi­cle rollover in the small town of Clive, east of La­combe.

Three male oc­cu­pants were in a Chrysler In­trepid when it went off road, and rolled. A 23-year-old pas­sen­ger from the Drumheller area was de­clared de­ceased on scene.

The male driver and sec­ond pas­sen­ger were treated on scene for mi­nor in­juries.

No other ve­hi­cles were in­volved in the in­ci­dent. A col­li­sion an­a­lyst was on scene.

Black­falds RCMP have laid charges against Ja­cob Stahl, 25, of Bashaw, in­clud­ing op­er­at­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle while im­paired caus­ing death, op­er­at­ing a mo­torve­hi­cle while in­tox­i­cated caus­ing death, op­er­at­ing a ve­hi­cle in a dan­ger­ous man­ner caus­ing death.

Stahl was re­leased with sev­eral con­di­tions, RCMP say. His first ap­pear­ance in Red Deer pro­vin­cial court is sched­uled for Au­gust 24.
