Delia is busy with the Ball Tournament this weekend, the campground is full of campers, motor homes and trucks. I have not heard any scores so far, but it seems like everyone had a lot of fun.

Construction of the new water line continues in Delia, with deep excavations and large heavy machinery, please watch your step if you must walk near the construction zone.

On Wednesday, August 3, 20 members of the Drop In Centre, and friends, attended the Rosebud Theatres’ matinee production of “Tent Meeting.” It featured gospel singing with a good story line, as well as several comic moments. The actors played several parts, each very convincingly. Everyone enjoyed the show immensely, thanks to the organizers and the drivers who car pooled. This was a production well worth seeing.

Remember the Mountain View Credit Union will celebrate their 12th anniversary in Delia on Friday, August 19, at 11 a.m. Hot dogs and burgers will be served (with the possibility of cake) the community is invited to join them for the BBQ, get your name in a draw, chat with the staff, and prehaps meet Mountain Max, the famed Mountain View mascot.

The Delia General Store has been sold and renamed “High- land Market”. We are all eagerly awaiting the grand opening and look forward to meeting the new management.

We continue to wish Lisa Skaaning a complete and speedy recovery from her unfortunate accident in Delia. Lisa will soon be home from the hospital but will have to cope with her left arm immobilized in a cast. Lisa is left handed so this will be a real challenge. This would be a difficult situation even for someone living in a family environment with family members to provide care. For a single person living alone it is devastating.

Terry and Daryl Trefz have been having summer fun canoeing down the Red Deer River to Joffre Bridge. The fun included camping on a remote island and getting soaked in a rainstorm. Good way to en- joy your summer-way to go! Things got even more exciting as their two young granddaughters, Hayley and Evie, arrived to spend a few days and kept them very busy!

MineCraft Camp is at the Delia Library from August 24 – 26. Kids aged 8 and up are invited to come join in activities with Minecraft. The camp will end with a big tournament challenging kids in Hanna and lots of prizes to win. Tons of fun! Please pre-register to reserve your spot. Limited spaces available.

Birthdays for August include Jackie Friedley on the 9th, Jim Scott on the 11th, and Kent Friedley on the 20th. Peggy and Lloyd Anderson will celebrate their special day on the 15th of August. Have a perfect special day.

Riding a horse bareback really makes you feel better off!
