Drumheller Aquaplex plans for new low-en­try pool

The Dr umheller Auqaplex is about to un­dergo a ma jor facelift.

The A quaplex Re trofit project w ill in­clude t he in­stal­la­tion of a p ool liner, and also a low-en­try pool. clude r elo­cat­ing t he hot tub and up dat­ing t he st eam rooms.

The project w as a pproved by c oun­cil in e arly A pril of this ye ar. T en­ders f or t he project clo se on Th urs­day, Au­gust 25 f or two diff er­ent con­tracts.

“We w ant one c on­trac­tor for the in­stal­la­tion of the pool liner , and t he s econd one is f or a gen­eral c on­trac­tor which is in char ge of man­ag­ing t he gen­eral sit e, they would do e lec­tri­cal work.”

“Our go al is t o ha ve t he project re­viewed and a de ci­sion put in to coun­cil for the Septem­ber 6 c oun­cil me et­ing,” says Dro­homer­ski.

This new de­sign of the pool boasts many ad­van­tages.

“The pool will still b e able to ho st c om­pet­i­tive s wim­ming me ets. And t his w ill also make the pool ac­ces­si­ble to all age s s o t hey c an en­joy s wim­ming. Not just f or young­sters but for folks who have tr ou­ble ge tting up and down lad­ders . They w ill no longer have that is­sue I t will be a g reat ad­di­tion. I t hink when the sys­tem is fin­ished it will be one of the most mod­ern p ools in t he pr ovince,” says Dro­homer­ski.

The c om­ple­tion p eriod of this pr oject w ill b e ar ound two mon ths. The t own ha s not an­nounc ed when c on­struc­tion is to be com­pleted.

The Drumheller Auqaplex will be re­ceiv­ing a newly de­signed try pool and a brand new pool liner. low-en-
