Last week was Youth and Se­niors week Sum­mer Fun Pro­gramme and ac­tiv­i­ties were at tan­gled for most days, un­for­tu­nately the gar­den­ing was can­celled be­cause of weather on Mon­day, but Tues­day was Story Time and the se­niors told the group about Great­grand­par­ents em­i­grat­ing from far away coun­tries, a cow­boy told a story about a cow.

Wed­nes­day was cook­ing day and they made Tur­tles, Thurs­day, se­niors went on the trol­ley bus to the East Coulee mu­seum and met the chil­dren there and they at­tended “Miss Mor­ri­son’s class from the 1930’s. Our Pres­i­dent Joanne was the floozy and dunce of the class. Fri­day was Sports day for every­one. I think we can say a good time was had by all. Thank you Rose for all the hard work putting all to­gether. The cen­tre was open as usual and sev­eral came to play Crib and Bingo.

This com­ing week will see the start of the usual ac­tiv­i­ties start in Septem­ber with the Birth­day party on Septem­ber 6 at 2:00 pm. Birthdays cel­e­brated in Septem­ber and Oc­to­ber are Bar­bara Barker, Dot Mackie, Gerry Moore, Bar­bara Quel­lette, Larry Lew Morton, Averil Bergman, Don Maxwell, Ron­ald Keats, An­nette Green, Julie Len­festy, Su­san DeFoor, Harry Kahuk, Fred­er­ick Gil­bert, Michael Du­mont, Dan Wor­man, Mar­garet Nelson, Jessie Arel­son, Ber­nice Chalmers, Roger Quel­lette, Aileen Eno, Cliff Deitz, Eileen Le­fly, Dan Herd, Grace Fuller­ton, Jo Anne Cun­ning­ham. Happy Birth­day to you all. Every­one is wel­come to come along for Cake and Cof­fee and wish the birth­day folk best wishes and en­joy the en­ter­tain­ment.

Septem­ber 7 is a com­mu­nity Expo at the BCF pro­mot­ing all the ac­tiv­i­ties in the town. If you want to Swim, skate, ex­er­cise, take up pho­tog­ra­phy, what­ever hob­bies you need, the in­for­ma­tion will be avail­able.

Thurs­day, Septem­ber 8 sees the start of Choir, Se­niors Bowl­ing, and Bridge. Call in at the Pi­o­neer Cen­tre for times and fi­nal de­tails.
