At­ten­tion writ­ers! Rock­y­ford Li­brary presents Im­prove Your Mem­oir & Fic­tion Writ­ing. This work­shop will run ev­ery sec­ond Satur­day from 10 un­til noon, be­gin­ning Septem- ber 17. Ses­sions are: Septem­ber 17 - Char­ac­ters; Oc­to­ber 1 - Set­ting, Lan­guage; Oc­to­ber 15: Plot­ting, Pac­ing, and Plan­ning; Oc­to­ber 29: Ty­ing it To­gether -- The El­e­ments of Your Story. Any­one aged 12+ is in­vited to reg­is­ter at the li­brary. Christa Bed­win, the in­struc­tor, has two decades of ex­pe­ri­ence in writ­ing, edit­ing, pub­lish­ing and teach­ing. Fall is here, and Rock­y­ford Li­brary’s clubs/groups are back. Moms ‘N’ Tots Drop-In re­turns Tues­day, Septem­ber 6, from 10:00 un­til 11:30. Par­ent Link will be pre­sent­ing Play & Learn, be­gin­ning Septem­ber 20, for six weeks. To ac­com­mo­date their sched­ule, Moms ‘N’ Tots’ time will shift to 9:45 to 11:15 for those weeks.

Thurs­day, Septem­ber 8, at 6:30, the Rock­y­ford Li­brary’s Pho­tog­ra­phy Group re­turns. This is a small but friendly group that meets (ex­cept dur­ing July and Au­gust) at the li­brary. Mem­bers share and dis­cuss pho­to­graphs that they have taken, of­ten of a pre­vi­ously se­lected topic, and watch an in­struc­tional video. There is no charge and no obli­ga­tion to share your im­ages. If you wish to bring pic­tures to share, please bring them on a USB stick and come early if pos­si­ble.

UFOs are back on Tues­day af­ter­noons, from 1:00 un­til 3:00, be­gin­ning Septem­ber 13. If you have a pas­sion for a hobby or craft (knit­ting/scrap­book­ing/colour­ing....) that is por­ta­ble, why not join us?
