Here we are into the last week of August, the beginning of school, hopefully the start of harvest for the farmers, and birthdays and anniversaries for September.
Birthday greetings go to: Jocelyn Sorensen 5th, Elsie Garson 12th, Les Bell 13th, Jean McGhee 15th, Jordan Wilton 22nd, and Todd McGhee 29th.
There are no anniversaries in September - I guess everyone was busy harvesting.
I was pleased to see the full page story of our local boys and their dream of opening their own brewery. Can’t wait until I can try all the brands out. I’m sure it will be a success as they are all smart.
This past Saturday I was invited to join an annual golf tournament sponsored by Ross and Allison Eremko for friends and relatives. There were some twenty folks from Sherwood Park, Calgary, points in Saskatchewan and locals. It was a fun time and as I hadn’t been able to golf for over 8 years, I was allowed to putt out sometimes for one of the foursome I was cart driver for. It felt good to hold a golf club again and I did make one putt in three tries. It was a fun time for all with a great supper later and party time after the food, and also some fine entertainment. Thanks again Eremko’s.
A short reminder that school is starting this week so be sure to obey all the speed zones and be aware of little ones just starting out on their own. Be aware of the older ones too as they sometimes don’t obey the rules for crossing the street.
If you are out on the highway and catch up to large machinery, remember that they don’t move as fast as you would like and don’t be trying to pass when unsafe. They are up much higher than you and can see traffic coming long before you. Give them a chance to pull over when they can and don’t be rude. They provide your food.
Have a good week and I think there are supposed to be a few days of sun and no rain! If so, get out and enjoy!
