You may have noticed that we’re pretty enthusiastic about supporting local writers -- especially in the fall, when we get worked up about NaNoWriMo ([Inter]National Novel Writing Month)! We’ve been building up our collection of great writing books, which disappear off the shelves faster than we can stock them, and this fall Writers of Dinosaur Valley will be better than ever, with a new time slot and a new writing tool to try each session. You’ll find us gathered the 2nd Saturday of each month, 10 am-12 pm.
We’re also working on offering more opportunities for you to learn from other authors. Next Saturday, September 24, author Ronnie Roberts will be presenting two free workshops, and we’d love to see you there. Join us in the morning, from 10 am-12 pm, for a session on what it looks like to publish in the 21st century. In the afternoon, from 2-4 pm, you’ll learn 9 great ways to take the middle of your story from mushy to marvellous. There will even be opportunities to win a few copies of the author’s books. So pack up your notebooks, netbooks, pencils and pens, and come write at the library.
