I’m sure we are all looking forward to the warm weather that is forecast for the coming week. I’m not quite ready to pull out my heavy sweaters and put away the short pants.
The Munson 300 Raffle Draw lucky winners for September 10 were Randy and Jessica Sharpe. Congratulations, that makes you part of the second time winner club. Everyone will want to buy their tickets from you for the 2017 raffle.
Parent Link is offering a free “Stay & Play” program in Morrin. This is a great way to connect and meet other parents and offers an opportunity for children to meet and socialize with other children, and participate in enriching activities. This FREE program is for parents or caregivers with children 0-6yrs. Older siblings always welcome. The program includes free play (puzzles, blocks, castles, playdough and more), as well as some great art or science, singing songs, and reading picture books. The program runs Thursdays 10:00 to 11:30 am in the Morrin United Church; September 29 to October 27 (Halloween Party on October. 27) and November 17 to December 8 (Christmas Party on December 8). Programs start again in January. For more information call Yvonne at 403-8205157.

There was an outstanding turn out for the Dinosaur Valley Half Marathon, 10K and 5K on Sunday, September 11. It was so nice to see families out enjoying the day together. Thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers who helped to make this such a great event in our community.
It was with mixed emotion that I heard the old, old Munson Hall burned down early Sunday morning. There were many great events held in that old building. I remember sitting along the wall watching the adults dance to Bobby Hoy and the Badlanders. They went round and round and round and round the dance floor. I hope the young people of our community will build memories like that in our new hall.
Have a great week.
