News this week is rather sparse...weather is always a topic but gets boring.

Sports fans had a feast of TV events over the weekend with their choice of baseball, golf, hockey and football. It was nice to see Team Canada and North America both win their games in the first go round. What a bunch of athletes to be proud of! Hockey really is “Our Game”.

Despite the morning dew in the fields the combines are rolling by late morning and the drivers are keeping a sharp watch for wet spots or water puddles. The yield is tremendous so hope the grade is good too.

Monday at 8 am my thermometer registered 0 degrees celsius, not good for many people or things especially grain, flower and vegetable gardens.

That seems to be it for this week. Here’s something to think about: Charlie Chaplin once said: a day without laughter is a day wasted.

Have a good week.
