If your child will be play­ing hockey in Rock­y­ford this sea­son, please be at the arena this Thurs­day (Septem­ber 29), for jer­sey fit­tings. Novice player’s will meet at 6 p.m., Atom player’s at 6:30 p.m., Peewee player’s at 7 p.m. and Bantam player’s are at 7:30 p.m. Please make sure you at­tend.

Birth­day greet­ings to those of you cel­e­brat­ing this week are sent to; Wayne Sher­man, Cailin Seeley, Linda Merik and Chris Geer­aert.

The Rock­y­ford Friend­ship Cen­ter will be hav­ing their next “Soup Day” on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 12 start­ing at noon. Ev­ery­one is welcome to at­tend.

Join us Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 4 at 9:45 at the li­brary for Play & Learn for moms and chil­dren from 0 to 5 years old. This is the third week of a six-week drop-in pro­gram that fo­cuses on dif­fer­ent as­pects of child de­vel­op­ment, in­clud­ing: fine and gross mo­tor skills, com­mu­ni­ca­tion, prob­lem solv­ing, per­sonal so­cial skills. Come for a visit, to play, and to talk to the pro­fes­sion­als about your child’s de­vel­op­ment.

There is still some space left in the last three ses­sions of “Im­prove Your Mem­oir and Fic­tion Writ­ing” with Christa Bed­win via Skype at the li­brary. Ses­sions run from 10 un­til noon. The Rock­y­ford Li­brary’s first Paint Night in the Vil­lage is al­ready full for Septem­ber 29, but we have great news! There will be an­other ses­sion from 7 to 9 on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 20. The regis­tra­tion fee cov­ers in­struc­tion and all sup­plies. Space is lim­ited to 12. This evening is for adults only.

Do your chil­dren want to paint? Are they com­plain­ing that our paint nights are lim­ited to adults? We have a spe­cial ses­sion just for them. Kids Can Paint is for those between the ages of 7 and 16. The event will run from 10 un­til noon on Satur­day morn­ing, Oc­to­ber 22. Regis­tra­tion is lim­ited to 12. Rock­y­ford Li­brary is pre­sent­ing Af­ter­noon at the Movies the first Wed­nes­day of each month at 3:00 p.m. Our first film, on Oc­to­ber 5, will be Hatari, star­ring John Wayne. Free! Bring your­self a snack. We pro­vide the pop­corn.
