The Rock­y­ford Friend­ship Cen­ter will be hav­ing their next “Soup Day” on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 12 start­ing at noon. Ev­ery­one is wel­come to at­tend.

Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 11 at 9:45 a.m. is the 4th week at the Rock­y­ford Li­brary for Play & Learn for moms and chil­dren ages 0 to 5 years old. Come and chat with San­dra, a speech pathol­o­gist, at this free event.

The sec­ond Rock­y­ford Li­brary Paint Night in the Vil­lage is Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. The reg­is­tra­tion fee cov­ers in­struc­tion and all sup­plies. Space is lim­ited to 12, so reg­is­ter quick! Please note that this is an adults only event.

Do your chil­dren also want to paint? Then good news! Rock­y­ford Li­brary is host­ing a paint ses­sion just for them. Kids Can Paint is for chil­dren ages 7 to 16. The event will run from 10 to noon on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 22. The reg­is­tra­tion fee cov­ers in­struc­tion and all sup­plies. Space is lim­ited to 12, so reg­is­ter early!

Novem­ber is Na­tional Novel Writ­ing Month, or NaNoWriMo. Writ­ers around the world, and of all ages, are en­cour­aged to write to­wards com­plet­ing a novel. In­ter­ested? Then stop by the Three Hills Mu­nic­i­pal Li­brary for the Pre-NaNo Meet & Greet on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please bring a dessert. Writ­ing ses­sions be­gin on Satur­days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Novem­ber start­ing with Drumheller Li­brary on Novem­ber 5, Rock­y­ford Li­brary on Novem­ber 19, and Three Hills Li­brary on Novem­ber 26. Cel­e­brate the end (or close to) of your novel with the wrap-up party at Drumheller Li­brary on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 3 at 2 p.m. Please bring a dip.
