The sympathy of the community is extended to the family and friends of long time resident Mike Slemko, who passed away in Drumheller. Funeral services will be held October 8 at 11:00 am at the Hussar Lutheran Church. Lunch will be served at the community hall following the service.

Condolences are extended to Karen (Stankovic) Blasken, sons Cody and Dylan as well as family and friends of Gerry Blasken who passed away at Drumheller Hospital. Funeral services were held October 3 at the Badlands Community Facility in Drumheller.
The annual turkey supper hosted by the Trip Kids families and helpers will be held October 19 at the community hall from 5 - 7 pm. The playschool will also be fundraising by offering a 50/50 and bucket draws. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Hussar Fish and Game Association are holding their annual Turkey Shoot on Sunday, Oct. 16 beginning at 12 noon at the shooting range in Hussar. Everyone is welcome to attend and the competition is open to all skill levels.
The congregations of Hussar and Dalum Lutheran churches celebrated 25 years of ordination with Pastor Dan and Paula Hendrickson and family at Dalum Church on Sept. 25. Church service was followed by a delicious pot luck meal and visiting. Our communities are fortunate to be cared for and guided by such a wonderful pastor.
Condolences are extended to Kelsey and Jared Sproule on the recent passing of her mom, Sherry Stew, of Sechelt, BC. Sherry had courageously battled cancer and a celebration of her life was held on Sept. 18 in Sechelt.
Angie Armstrong was honoured by her co-workers as she retires from her position at the Hussar branch of the Chinook Credit Union. Staff and family gathered at Angie and Tom’s home for a farewell celebration. Angie is looking forward to spending more time with her granddaughters. The bank would like to welcome new staff member Arleta Thiessen to their team and to our community.
The 11th annual “Artists’ Among Us” fall gala will be held October 20 at Hope Covenant Community Church in Strathmore. Doors open at 6:30 pm with the performance beginning at 7:00 pm.
