Morrin Community Calendar
Well, here we are... it’s a new month, harvest month, hallowe’en apples, trick or treat, pumpkins, and thanksgiving, and also for us this month... our daughter’s 12th birthday and our 15th wedding anniversary celebration!
So happy to see the sun shining this Monday morning after that incredible open-upthe-heavens rain/hail storm we had on Saturday... whoa! Heard a thunderous BOOM and CRACK of lightning, something got hit out here in Morrin as our houses shook! We lost power for a bit a couple of times so I think electrical lines were struck and damaged but rescuers did not take long to get us back... thanks! And, hope things dry up quick this week with some warm weather and blue skies so farmers can get back out into the fields and get their crops in.
Okay, so the 4H Multi-club got things started with their first meeting this week and if you need info on that you may call Melanie Nelson at 403-7720000. She has volunteer leaders lined up for the categories of equine, canine, photography, small engines and band and she is working on getting helpers for sewing and archery so stay tuned.
And with this lovely, beautiful season we have some events coming up at the Morrin Community Hall... on Wednesday, October 26 from 5-7 p.m. there will be a delicious fall supper served up... turkey dinner with all the trimmings. And later on Sunday, November 20 the annual Christmas market will be all set up and wonderfully decorated.
And speaking of Christmas, director Becky Neuman welcomes singers for the annual Christmas Cantata. They practice every Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Morrin and will perform in December. For more info you may call Becky at 403-772-2352 or Pastor Skip at 403772-2293.
So there you have it for today... on a personal note... happy 64th birthday to Nora (you told me I could!) and happy anniversary on Thursday (tomorrow) to Dr. Bob, my wonderful, handsome, smart, kind, fun, dear husband and faithful partner in this blessed life we have... ‘til the end of time at least! Cheers!
