Man sen­tenced for pos­ses­sion of stolen ve­hi­cles

A man liv­ing in Rock­y­ford was sen­tenced to eight months in jail for pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty.

James Had­wen ap­peared in provin­cial court in Drumheller on Septem­ber 23 where he pleaded guilty to pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty.

On Septem­ber 13 of this year, po­lice ob­served a grey BMW parked half in­side a garage on a Rock­y­ford prop­erty. He was ob­served re­mov­ing parts from the in­te­rior of the ve­hi­cle. It was de­ter­mined the stolen from Red Deer.

Had­wen also pleaded guilty to pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty re­lated to a ve­hi­cle re­ported stolen on July 6 from Cal­gary. He was spot­ted driv­ing this ve­hi­cle in the Red Deer area.

The court heard that he had re­cently served a sen­tence of 90 days mi­nus credit for time served, for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of a truck stolen from Cal­gary. He was spot­ted with the truck in the Nisku area on Fe­bru­ary 4.
