Hope ev­ery­one had a won­der­ful Thanks­giv­ing with fam­ily and friends, de­spite the crazy weather we had.

The Rock­y­ford Arena will be open­ing its doors this week for a new sea­son of ringette and hockey. Good luck to all the Ringer and Rough­neck teams.

The Rock­y­ford Curl­ing Club will be host­ing their An­nual Oys­ter (and ham) Sup­per on Thursday, October 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The meal is “all you can eat”. The Gen­eral Meet­ing will fol­low at 7 p.m. A draw for a one year curl­ing mem­ber­ship for two peo­ple will take place for those in at­ten­dance at the meet­ing. Ev­ery­one is wel­come to at­tend.

Birth­day greet­ings to those of you cel­e­brat­ing this week are sent to; Josh En­gel­hardt, Har­vey Linville, Ron Kathol and Leah Dahm. Happy An­niver­sary to; Al­lan and Carol Munchrath, Ron and Launette Kathol, Jim and Rhonda Koester and to any­one else cel­e­brat­ing a spe­cial oc­ca­sion this week.

The sec­ond Rock­y­ford Li­brary Paint Night in the Vil­lage is Thursday, October 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. The reg­is­tra­tion fee cov­ers in­struc­tion and all sup­plies. Space is lim­ited to 12, so register quick! Please note that this is an adults only event.

Do your chil­dren also want to paint? Then good news! Rock­y­ford Li­brary is host­ing a paint ses­sion just for them. Kids Can Paint is for chil­dren ages 7 to 16. The event will run from 10 to noon on Satur­day, October 22. The reg­is­tra­tion fee cov­ers in­struc­tion and all sup­plies. Space is lim­ited to 12, so register early!

Novem­ber is Na­tional Novel Writ­ing Month, or NaNoWriMo. Writ­ers around the world, and of all ages, are en­cour­aged to write to­wards com­plet­ing a novel. In­ter­ested? Then stop by the Three Hills Mu­nic­i­pal Li­brary for the Pre-NaNo Meet & Greet on Thursday, October 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please bring a dessert. Writ­ing ses­sions be­gin on Satur­days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Novem­ber start­ing with Drumheller Li­brary on Novem­ber 5, Rock­y­ford Li­brary on Novem­ber 19, and Three Hills Li­brary on Novem­ber 26. Cel­e­brate the end (or close to) of your novel with the wrap-up party at Drumheller Li­brary on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 3 at 2 p.m. Please bring a dip.

Elaina Geer­aert brings a jew­ellery mak­ing class to the Rock­y­ford Li­brary on Thursday, October 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. Cre­ate your own tree of life pen­dant and dec­o­rate it as sim­ply or as com­pli­cated as you like.
