It’s Fall Fair Weekend in Delia! The Delia Fall Fair happens on Saturday, October 15, so times awastin’ to get those entries ready for the exhibits. The Fair takes place at the Delia arena, doors open at 12 noon, you can come in and look at all the exhibits, check the winners and see if you won any ribbons. The exhibit entrees can be taken to the Arena on Friday, October 14 between 5 and 8 p.m. Vendors who want a table please contact Dawn at 403-364-2129 or Marcel at 403-364-2692.
The kids activities for this year are bouncy castles, giant board games, face painter and mini amazing race –register Friday night or call Carla for details. You’ll notice changes as we try hosting the concession and vendors market out of the curling rink. And of course, come check out the exhibits and activities in the Arena. Weather permitting there could be a surprise garden tractor event! A sample of local entertainment will be there; buskers welcome. Have you been coloring? The age appropriate (0-100) sheets are spread around town; hope to see your version at the show. An afternoon of family fun, and a great Fall walkabout as you travel the lane from arena to curling rink and on to the historic church photo show!
An interdenominational Community Fall Thanksgiving Service will be held at the Delia Community Hall on Sunday, October 23 at 10:30 a.m. This is “Souper Sunday” so stay for a lunch of soup and a bun after the service. The Weiglum family from Three Hills will share about faith, family and farming and God’s provision in their lives. Everyone welcome.
A very informative session on Financial Assistance for Seniors was held at the Drop In Centre on Thursday afternoon. There have been some changes in the grant programs for Seniors, so it was good to be brought up to date. The general meeting for October at the Drop In will be Thursday morning, October 13, at 10 o’clock. Pot luck is at noon on Thursday, October 20, everyone welcome.
October 24 is the day there will be a free flu Clinic at the Delia Community Hall Meeting Room from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Delia Library Thursday lunch hour happenings from 12 to 12:27 –: October 13 – Coloring Craze –all ages October 27 –Toilet paper Tube Mummies, Cats and Bats – all ages.
Fall Fun Preschool Program October 18 – Shauna with Golden Prairie Parent Link will be bringing fall crafts, activities, books, songs, and more with her to the library . The Mom’s Morning Out will meet on October 11 and 25 from 10 to 11:30 downstairs in the Delia Christian Fellowship Church.
Scholastic Book fair October 19-26 Regular library hours, Family Event night is October 24 from 3:30 to 6:30 Family Event night will include a special family Event Draw where students could win $50 in books- $25 in books for your family and $25 in books for your child’s classroom.
Don’t forget to play Bingo, sponsored by the Delia Elks every Tuesday night in the Community Centre. Doors open at 7, bingo starts at 8. Congratulations to the last Junior Bonanza winner, Patty Wells. Come try your luck – you could be the next big winner!!
