The Drumheller and Area Asset Development Coalition joined participants from across Alberta at Coalitions Connect 2016 October 4 and 5 in Sherwood Park. The Drumheller and Area Asset Development Coalition is a group of community members from different organizations who work together to foster the developmental assets that youth need to become healthy, caring, produc- tive, successful adults. The more assets that youth have in life, the less likely he/she is to engage in risky behavior or experience situations that put him/her at risk. Attending Coalitions Connect were Katie Suntjens – REACH Wellness Worker, Diana Rowe – Starland County Community Services Director, and Janice Hoover – Community 4-H volunteer. Other members of the local coalition include Drumheller RCMP; School Family Resource/Liaison Workers; Drumheller FCSS & Community Services; Alberta Health Service – Addictions & Mental Health, Health Promotion and Health Care, and Junior Achievement.

“Working together can have a positive impact on the future of youth in your community.” For more information, contact Janice Hoover, Chair – Asset Development Coalition, (403)364-2040.
