RCMP re­mind driv­ers to scrape wind­shields

Al­though Drumheller has so far been spared snow­fall, the low tem­per­a­tures still re­sult in frosty wind­shields.

RCMP re­mind driv­ers to please take the time to warm up your ve­hi­cle or thor­oughly clean your front wind­shield and side win­dows. You must en­sure you have a clear view of your sur­round­ings.

Fail­ure to do so may re­sult in a $155 ticket.

Po­lice are also con­cerned with bike safety as the days get shorter and the nights get longer.

RCMP see that lo­cal cy­clists are find­ing them­selves trav­el­ling in darker hours. The Ve­hi­cle Equip­ment Reg­u­la­tions of Al­berta state a per­son shall not ride a bi­cy­cle at night un­less it is equipped with at least one head­lamp, one red tail lamp, and one red rear mounted re­flec­tor.

Cy­clists are en­cour­aged to wear bright or re­flec­tive cloth­ing in or­der to make them­selves more vis­i­ble to mo­torists.
