Congratulations to three local couples who are all celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in October this year. Married in 1966, Barry and Jan McLeo d, Shirley and Jim Bates, and Don and Bev Hall are all celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in October of 2016. Congratulations to all of you and may you enjoy many more happy anniversaries together!
Delia Kidsport will be having their annual fundraiser raffle table at the Delia Christmas Bazaar. The Travelling Basket Raffle (approx value $600.) is making its way through the local businesses. Please support this worthwhile organization so that we can help local kids participate in sports. The Delia Christmas Bazaar will happen on Saturday, November 12, at the Delia Community Centre, many vendors and lots of variety to choose from. Be sure to mark it on your calendar.
Thursday was pot luck day for October at the Drop In Centre, everybody had a sweet tooth that day as we had several varieties of dessert to tempt us. Thursday was also movie night, the movie of choice was the Martian. The next birthday party at the Drop In will be held November 9, with Charle and Joan as hostesses.
The foot nurse, Diane McCuaig, from Hanna, will be at the Delia Drop In Centre on Tuesday, November 1, during coffee morning. If your toe nails need a trim drop in to the Drop In on November 1.
A few Delia Seniors joined the Loran Bus on a trip to Cross Iron Mills on Wednesday. The bus was filled with folks from Hanna and Drumheller, as well. It was a fun trip and the Lorans’ are a great group to travel with.
A few members of the Delia Drop In Centre are residents of Highland Dell, a highly desirable seniors’ complex in Delia that is close to the centre of town and within walking distance of every business in the village. Highland Dell is under the jurisdiction of the Sunshine Lodge in Drumheller, right now only two of the apartments are vacant, anyone interested may contact Judy at 403-823-3290 extension 223.
At the Delia Library, on Monday, October 31, from 12 noon to 12:38 grades 7 and up may create your own remarkable underwater sand creations using special waterproof sand. Please register for this workshop with Mrs. Hunter by Wednesday,
Remember to watch for little goblins and ghosts on Monday night- please drive with care.
