Have you got your costume ready for Halloween? I hope the weather stays decent. It seems to be a nasty night so many times. There are no anniversaries for the month of November. Birthday greetings for November go to: Grayson Moar on the 5th, Bradley McGhee on the 18th, Keara McGhee on the 26th. Have a good one.
I was at Strathmore and Calgary on Thursday and Friday and from Rockyford south to Highway 1 there is a lot of crop still to harvest. Some will be difficult as it appeared the canola swath was flat on the ground and the second growth was about a foot high and green with just the start of blossoms showing. It looks like it may be next year to finish in some parts of the country. Not the first time for that to happen but fortunately, it has been several years since then.
Friday night I joined Ross and Allison Eremko and family for a dinner at Sublime Food and Wine to celebrate the visit of their friend Tamara Flynn from Texas. There were more friends there from Calgary and here as well and then it was back to Eremko’s until well on into the evening. Being older and sometimes wiser, I went home early.
Remember to be extra careful driving on October 31 and keep a sharp eye out for the little ones. They don’t always look before running across the street.
Armistice Day is coming soon so remember to wear your poppy and plan to attend the service on November 11. It is the least we can do to honour our veterans.
That’s it for this week and here’s something to think on: A saying from Woodrow Wilson: “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together”. Isn’t it too bad the politicians of today aren’t that smart?
