Hanna RCMP charge man with sex­ual as­sault

A Hanna man, who also made him­self known to po­lice in the Drumheller area this sum­mer was charged with a num­ber of of­fenses in­clud­ing sex­ual as­sault and break and en­ter.

On Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 28, at ap­prox­i­mately 4:30 a.m., the Hanna RCMP re­ceived a call to at­tend a break and en­ter at a res­i­dence.

The en­su­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed that a man un­law­fully en­tered the vic­tim's home while she was sleep­ing. The vic­tim awoke to dis­cover the man sit­ting on her couch mas­tur­bat­ing. The vic­tim con­fronted the male and forced him out of the house.

The RCMP lo­cated the sus­pect walk­ing down the street a short time later and he was ar­rested.

Ross Beecher, 42, of Hanna has been charged with sex­ual as­sault, break­ing and en­ter­ing a res­i­dence and com­mit­ting mis­chief therein, pos­ses­sion of metham­phetamine, pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty and breach of pro­ba­tion / con­di­tions.

Beecher has been re­manded into cus­tody and will ap­pear for a bail hear­ing at the provin­cial court in Drumheller on Novem­ber 18.
