Three Hills RCMP in­ves­ti­gate fa­tal col­li­sion

On Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 27, at ap­prox­i­mately 7:00 p.m., Three Hills RCMP along with El­nora Fire and Res­cue, Three Hills EMS and RCMP col­li­sion an­a­lyst re­sponded to a mo­tor ve­hi­cle col­li­sion at the in­ter­sec­tion of high­way 590 and high­way 21 near the com­mu­nity of El­nora.

A car trav­el­ling west­bound on high­way 590 failed to stop at the in­ter- sec­tion of high­way 21 and was struck by a one-ton truck trav­el­ling north­bound on high­way 21. The lone oc­cu­pant of the car, a 22-yearold male from Stet­tler was pro­nounced dead at the scene by EMS. The 32-yearold driver of the truck was treated for mi­nor in­juries.

Both driv­ers were wear­ing seat­belts at the time of the col­li­sion. Al­co­hol and weather are not be­lieved to be fac­tors in the col­li­sion.

The name of the de­ceased will not be re­leased.
