Well the Hand Hills supper is all over and we’re all probably two pounds heavier – but wasn’t it delicious!
Tuesday saw a group of men here at the center having a very loud and fun snooker game. If you like to play why don’t you come and join them.
The usual card players were here on Monday and Tuesday, and then bingo on Wednesday. We usually have a good group to play bingo. Our thanks to all the DARTS people who come to play. They really enjoy it and we appreciate them supporting our center.
On Thursday morning we hosted two big busses full of walkers from Calgary – about 90 people in all. They come and have muffins and coffee before going out on their walks. Also, at the same time the choir was practicing and, I guess, entertaining them. Needless to say we had a full house.
In the afternoon we also played Scrabble – and speaking of Scrabble did I ever have some excitement. My next turn I had a word that counted 48 at which time I was able to lay down all seven of my let- ters – which gave me 50 more points for a total of 98 points. That will probably never happen to me again – unbelievable! There was lots of high fiving for a few minutes!
The Bridge players were in on Thursday evening and the winning scores are as follows:
1st – Beryl Sigfusson and Helen Peers – 4300
2nd – Jennie Demille and Don Robertson – 3920
3rd – Mary and Bill Burke – 3380
Several from the center enjoyed their trip to Calgary on Friday to attend the Philharmonic. Thanks to the Drumheller Travel Club.
