The Drumheller Mail - - SPORTS -

I don’t like the way the days are getting so short and they will be even shorter after this weekend.

The Munson 300 Raffle Draw lucky winner for October 29 was Cliff Sharpe of Drumheller. Congratulations Cliff, and thank you for buying a ticket.

It was a busy night on Friday October 28 as it was the Annual Ladies Night at the hall. Over 100 ladies were in attendance with home party tables showing their wares. The fashion show with samples from SJ Fashions, Marks Work Wearhouse and Marilyn’s Fashions and Aesthetics was enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who participated, attended and again to our volunteers for all their hard work to put it together. Special thanks to the fellas who helped out that night so all the ladies could enjoy the evening.

Congratulations to the Senior Girls High Volleyball team who brought home silver from the Vulcan Monster Smash tournament on the weekend. This week

There is a parent council meeting at the school on Thursday at 4:30. Report cards for senior and junior high will go out on Friday, November 4. The Remembrance Day ceremony at the school will be held this week, November 4 starting at 10:45.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month, each week we will be posting some facts about the disease. For example, did you know there are three major types of diabetes: Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes. The Morrin Lions will be holding a public information session the evening of Tuesday, November 22 at the Morrin hall. The evening will include information on types of diabetes, prediabetes, exercise and nutrition.

Mark your calendars: the Morrin Santa Breakfast will be December 4 at the Morrin Hall and the Munson Santa Breakfast will be on December 18.

There will be a Rural Crime Watch Annual General Meeting on November 16 at the Diana Restaurant starting with supper at 6:00. The meeting will start at 7:00.

Hope you had a nice Halloween. I had the special treat of a couple old trick or treaters stopping by. It was a pleasant surprise to see them and it really made my day.

Now that Halloween is over I hope that we all give Remembrance Day the respect it deserves and not set out Christmas decorations until after November 11.

Have a good week.
