The First Annual Christmas Market is set to go this coming Saturday, November 26 and I know the vendors keep increasing so there will be lots of very different items available to purchase. If you are in the mood to do some Christmas shopping in a very special location this is the day you have to mark on your calendar as it will be a lot of fun and you are sure to go home with many unique items for yourself and those on your Christmas list. There is also a Christmas market happening in Trochu on Thursday, November 24 during the day as well if you want to head over there.

We had our first crib afternoon at the Drop-In and it was decided then that a better evening to play would be Wednesdays so we will be having our second crib night on Wednesday, November 30 starting at 7:00 p.m. See you then.

The Big Valley Elks will be hosting their Annual Turkey Bingos on Wednesday, December 7 in Rumsey and Wednesday, December 14 in Big Valley; start time for each bingo will be 7:30 p.m. They will have turkeys for door prizes and gift certificates for all the bingos, cakes for ties. The prices to play have remained the same for many years. The Elks do so much good in the community that this is hard to ignore, make sure you get out and join in the fun.

The Library’s next craft night will be held on Thursday, Dec 8 because of the Ladies curling league on Tuesdays and the Turkey bingo on Wednesday. We will be making Christmas tree ornaments with a rustic theme so come and join us at 7:00 p.m. Remember this is a learn and share evening as all our craft nights are so if you have a good idea and would like to share it please bring it along. We will be building a simple door knocker charm, if you have a hot glue gun please bring it along.

The Morrin Lions will be hosting their annual Santa Breakfast on December 4 at the Morrin Hall from 9:00 am to noon. I haven’t heard yet what date our Christmas Social will be but I’m sure Sandy will be working on it with other parents to make sure Santa will visit our community as well during the Christmas season.

Since this column is all about crafting, I thought I would leave you with these two funnies:

My biggest fear is that when I die my husband will sell all my craft supplies for what I told him they cost!

And: She who has the most craft supplies wins so right now I am in first, second and third place!

Have a great week.
