This past Sunday’s turkey supper brought out a decent number of people to enjoy the repast, despite the dense fog shrouding the countryside. Accounts from those attending were that Craigmyle was a small pocket for a few hours in the late afternoon when the fog lifted, showcasing the beautiful sparkling frost laden trees.

Any ladies interested in attending the Craigmyle Ladies Christmas party scheduled for 6:00 pm on Friday December 2 have only a few days left to make their intent known. The party begins with a supper, followed by an interactive game and a gift exchange. The only expense to attendees is to bring a $10.00 wrapped gift for the gift exchange. Those wishing to attend must contact Betty (403-6652247) or Bev (403-6652492) to register their presence by this Friday, November 25.

The next pancake breakfast will be held on Sunday, December 4 from 9 - 11 am in the church basement.

Also coming up quickly is the “Christmas Eve/Candlelight” service to be held in the Craigmyle Historic Church on Sunday, December 18 at 7:00 pm. All are welcome to attend this event. Refreshments will be served following the service.

I recently received word of the passing of Beatrice Young of Calgary at the age of 93 years. Bea grew up on the family farm in the Farrell Lake area, north-west of Craigmyle, completing her high school education in Craigmyle following her family’s move into the village. She furthered her education to become a registered nurse, receiving a citation for superior bedside care of her patients. Bea was interred in the Delia cemetery this past Monday.

Birthday Greetings go out to Emma Rees on November 25 and Dennis Burrows on December 1. Have a great day!
