Sincere sympathy to the Morlock families on the passing of Lydia Morlock in the Red Deer Hospice on Wednesday. Lydia (Honnacker) Morlock was born and raised in Delia and may be remembered by some of the earlier residents. She and her husband, Henry, and their family, farmed in the Byemoor area for many years. After her husband passed away Lydia resided in Stettler for several years. She was a dear friend and will be missed terribly.
Sympathy of the community also goes out to the family and friends of Jeanie Black who passed away suddenly this week. Sincere condolences to all of Jeanie’s family and friends.
The Delia Historical Society would like to thank everyone who helped organize the Remembrance Day Service on November 11, 2016. With this support the Delia Historical Society continues to honor our veterans who served in the wars. Thanks to the organizers and everyone else who helped.
The Delia Historical Society received a lovely thank you letter and card in the mail this past week from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, thanking us for acknowledging her 90th birthday on April 21. We thank everyone who attended our Queen’s tea to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.
The Delia Library Bake Sale was once again a great success, the Library wishes to thank all the talented bakers who donated the wonderful items. They also wish to thank all those who so generously purchased the goodies. Watch for them again next year.
Congratulations to Teri of Drumheller Body Works who won the Kidsport travelling basket at the Christmas Bazaar. Condolences to all the fans of Kidsport who bought tickets but didn’t win, remember it’s for a really great cause.
Santa Claus is coming to town! Better be good, ‘cause he’ll be in Delia on Saturday, December 3, at the Commu- nity Centre.
The Delia United Church will present their annual Hymn Sing on the evening of December 4, at 7 p.m., in the Delia United Church. Everyone welcome.
Mark your calendars for the annual Christmas party at the Delia Drop In Centre on Thursday, December 15 at high noon, come for turkey and all the trimmings, everyone is welcome. Remember the “Secret Pal” exchange, secret pals will be revealed at the party and new pals chosen.
Elsie Limpert celebrated her birthday on Monday, November 28. Both Margaret and Tessa Rogers will celebrate a birthday on the third of December. Have a happy special day.
