Coming up quickly is the next Craigmyle pancake breakfast. Sunday, December 4 is the morning to come to Craigmyle and enjoy fine food and socialization. This will be the last breakfast until February 5, as the first Sunday in January is New Year’s Day.
The Christmas Eve / Candlelight service will be held at the Craigmyle Church on Sunday, December 18 at 7:00 pm. Unfortunately, due to the lack of children in this community, the original plan for a nativity played out by local children has been abandoned. However, plan B is shaping up very well. The service will be conducted entirely by community members, will be music filled, and will share the Christmas story with all in attendance. It promises to be a true reminder of the “reason for the season.” Refreshments will be served after the event. All are invited to attend.
The ever popular “Coffee Break” has changed direction theme-wise since the November American election. Items, other than American politics, are now under discussion. Many social, country and world problems are effectively solved during coffee time. All folks from both inside and outside the community are encouraged to come out on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and be part of this social time. Good discussions take place but laughter and good rapport prevail. All are welcome.
Tuesday mornings at 11:00 am (following coffee time) is when the local crafters meet. Folks (mostly ladies) are welcome to bring their projects by and work on them until 12:30 pm (or sometimes longer). This is a time for crafters to share their talents with others while learning from fellow crafters.
The Coffee Break will continue through the month of December, excluding December 27 and 29 and resuming on January 3, 2017.
Birthday greetings go out to Dennis Burrows on December 2; Sandy Irwin on December 6 and Shirley Chostner on December 7. Happy Anniversary to Dave and Sue Eggins on December 3. Have a great day!
