Delia Senior News
Countdown to Christmas- only a few days now- can’t believe it’s Christmas time already!
It was a merry Christmas time at the Delia Drop In Centre on Thursday for the annual Christmas party/ pot luck. If you have Facebook you may be able to find the pictures of Santa handing out presents and getting lots of hugs from some of the ladies. A certain blonde lady seemed very affectionate to Santa but I think she knows Santa very well, perhaps she is Mrs. Claus! (Not too sure about that dark haired gentleman though). We had a good attendance of over 25 guests and members to enjoy a scrumptious turkey dinner with all the trimmings plus a variety of desserts. Thanks to everyone who made it happen, special thanks to the guests who came and made it a perfect day! Be sure to drop in to the Delia Drop In Centre for coffee on Tuesday and Thursday mornings
For residents of Delia – here are the dates for garbage pick up during the holidays; garbage will be picked up in Wednesday, December 28, 2016, and Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
The Delia Arena will be hosting the New Year’s Eve party at 7 p.m. Coffee, hot chocolate and juice provided, feel free to bring snacks for your family if you wish.
Mark your calendar for the Elk’s Pancake Breakfast on Sunday morning, January 8, 2017.
Greg Herzog must have nearly been a New Years baby back in the day, because he celebrates his birthday on December 31. Happy Birthday and Happy New Year, Greg.
I may not have a column next week as I will be away for a few days with family, so I will take this time to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas plus the best year ever in 2017. Thanks to everyone who gave me a news item for the paper- it’s hard to write a column when there is nothing to write about! I appreciate any help I can get.
Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.
