The Shepherd School of Nazareth Lutheran Church put on an excellent retelling of the Christmas Story on December 18. Directors Carol and Philip Larsen, along with some special people, helped the kids to really shine and figure out what the season is all about. The Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship will begin at 4 pm at Nazareth on December 24. All are welcome! Come and celebrate the birth of the Christ Child! There will not be worship on December 25. Enjoy the season with your loved ones!
The Memory Tree is up at the corner of the church, with the names of those we have loved and lost. If you happen to drive or walk past, take a look at the lovely work that Carol Callaghan and Yvonne Way do to help us honor those we miss at Christmas time.
The Lionettes held their group Christmas Party at the Country Farmhouse, with special guests of three lifetime members: Donna Firkus, Marie Ellis, and Joan Holm. The Lionettes also hosted their annual Senior’s Christmas party last week.
The Standard Playschool came to the Senior’s Centre and the library to sing some songs and eat some treats. The Senior’s din- ner was held last week, with 34 in attendance for a lovely turkey dinner prepared by Lori Bach. So many fun things have been happening in our little village!
The out of school care is having a Christmas Market. They will be baking, decorating and crafting all month, so if you are in need of last minute gifts or baking for that unexpected company come by on December 23 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Country Kids Daycare, located next to the Co-op.
The Christmas season is upon us, and this year the Village Office will be hosting a Christmas house/yard decorating contest. The top three residents with the best Christmas lights and decorations display will receive a gift card to our local Co-op store. Council will drive around the village and judge the displays after 7 on Wednesday, December 21.
