Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All....may you all enjoy the wonders of this special season.

For the folks in Orkney the Christmas Eve service is at 7:00 pm with readings and carols and coffee to follow at the Centre.

Did you know that Hollywood has a Christmas Parade? I didn’t until the other night while I was scanning the TV and it was celebrating it’s 85th year. Lots of marching bands, fancy floats and entertainment from celebrities. It was nice to see Olivia Newton-John again. Still a beautiful lady and still has a lovely voice. Also singing was Julia Ara. What a wonderful young artist.

I see by the front page of the Calgary Sun that Premier Notley hasn’t seen much anger expressed over the carbon tax! I won- der where she lives! Have you ever wondered how Santa figures out the naughty and nice bit of Christmas? I wonder what the Premier will get in her stocking? Maybe an orange and some coal? Since she isn’t aware of much anger perhaps we should start phoning, texting, emailing and sending letters.

I expect most families have several members here or they are going to family elsewhere for the festivities. I am having most of my family for Christmas weekend and perhaps some friends from Red Deer and Calgary as well so there will be about 18 here ranging in age from 11 months to me. That’s quite a spread in years!

Do drive carefully and respect other drivers. Road rage doesn’t accomplish any good and can be deadly. I don’t think five minutes of your time is worth an accident and most of the time the guy who passes in a hurry and you are sitting next to each other at the red light. I smile and wave.

That’s it for this week and I may not have news again until after New Year’s and get caught up with all the events during the holiday.

Take care and again Season’s Greetings to all. I hope Santa is good to you.
