Stettler RCMP lay drug charges following search warrant
On December 21, 2016, RCMP members from Stettler RCMP Detachment and the RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response Team (CLEAR Team), with assistance from Stettler EMS and Stettler Regional Fire Department, executed a Search Warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in an apartment suite in Stettler, AB.
A number of items were located and seized including crys- tal methamphetamine, juana, and a firearm.
41-year-old Merle Mahoney of Stettler, AB was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of Crime under $5000, unsafe storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Mahoney was remanded into custody and was slated to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on December 23, 2016. mari- Rotary is a volunteer organization of 1.2 million business and professional leaders united worldwide in more than 200 countries. Come on out - take the kiddies out for a skate at Rotary Park. Soon the club will be looking at a project which will be highlighted by a contribution of up to $7,500. This money is provided by District 5360 of Rotary. Annual funding of this amount is expected to be made available to our club.
President-elect Ian Cassels assumes office July 1. He has announced further members of the executive. They are: Graham Giffen, Sgt. of Arms; Trevor Young, Youth; Ken Briault, Foundation and Jim Fisher, public relations. Previously named were Sylvia Adams, treasurer and Wendy Benzon, secretary.
