Rumsey & District Register

The Drumheller Mail - - SPOTLIGHT ON BUSINESS - Patty Steen 403-368-3820

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful week with family and friends. The snow was a little bit of a deterrent to getting to where you might needed to go but what a welcome sight to brighten the landscape and give us the feeling that Christmas has truly arrived.

The Rumsey Ag society will be hosting a New Year’s Eve dance on December 31 at the Rumsey Hall. Doors will open at 8:00 pm. The door charge will get you some party favors and a great midnight lunch along with all the fun and music you could enjoy. This is an 18 and over event so you might need a babysitter but it will be worth it. The music will play until 2:00 am so there will be lots of time to ring in 2017.

The Rumsey men’s Bonspiel is next on the calendar. It will start on January 23 depending on how many teams are entered so make sure you give Brooks and Jackie Watts a call to get entered to have some fun.

The Morrin Figure Skating Club is hosting their annual fundraiser on February 4 at the Rumsey Hall. Doors open at 8:00 pm, and you must be 18 to attend. They have engaged the band “Five of Diamonds” to entertain you for the evening so it is sure to be a great time. Important announcement: Tea has been discovered to be more dangerous than beer. Please avoid drinking tea. Bill discovered this last night, he had 14 beers till 3 am at the pub while his wife was just drinking tea at home. You should have seen how violent and angry she was when Bill got home. Bill was peaceful, silent and headed to bed as she shouted at him, all night and even into the next morning. Please ladies, if you can’t handle your tea, please don’t drink it....;)

Have a great week, everyone.
