The holiday season is over and we are starting a brand new year- a clean slate- lets make it the best year ever, lets be kind to everyone, for everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about. A smile or a kind word can sometimes make a big difference.
I had a week of family over the holidays, it was great, especially the little ones, because children make Christmas, but it is sort of nice to be back to normal and the usual routine.
Tuesday and Thursday mornings are coffee time at the Delia Drop In Centre starting at nine in the morning until the last one out turns out the lights. Everyone is welcome, drop in for coffee and a visit, there may even be a card game or the men may start a game of pool.
In Library news, Jazzercize takes place at the Delia School Gym on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m., with instructor Kim Thompson, also at 9 a.m., at the Mason Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be no Jazzercise on January 4 though.
Leapfrog and Tadpole Preschool story time at the library on Tuesdays January 10 and 24 from 11 to 12 at the library. Preschool story time celebrates the joys of language and story through the use of music, puppets, picture books, story telling and more! A great opportunity to explore literacy with your preschooler. There is also a Preschool Library visit on Wednesday, January 18 at 1 p.m., when preschool will be visiting the library and exploring the topic of bears-sounds exciting!
Mom’s morning out will meet on January 17 and 31 from 10 to 11:30 am downstairs in the Christian Fellowship Church.
Cast and Yarn Fun on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Library for anyone interested in knitting, crocheting or hand knitting. Bring your yarn project or come with an open mind in trying a project at the Delia Makerspace. Come enjoy some crafting and chatting.
Remember Baby Play takes place at the Delia Drop in Centre from 10 to 11:30 a.m., on Friday, January 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10, and 17.
There will be a Beginning Genealogy Workshop on Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Library. A light lunch is provided with your registration. This workshop is for beginning and intermediate genealogical researchers. The instructor will instruct on how to use research forms, court records, vital statistics, census records, cemetery records, creating a system, computer programs etc, Instructor is Jeany Tilbert. Please contact the library to register so they have numbers for lunch.
Happy Birthday on January 6 to Brenda Bukowiekci and to Lorraine Jorgensen on January 10. They have left us for the bright lights of Drumheller but we still miss and remember them!
