It certainly is winter, snow, cold, short days, and advertisements for warm places to vacation.

The Munson 300 Raffle Draw for 2017 is underway and our first winner on January 7 was Kathy MacDermid. Congratulations. Thanks again to everyone who bought tickets. Good luck.

Getting a little news about what is happening at Morrin School, curling is up and running. The Senior High boys and girls were in the Cervus Jr. bonspiel in Red Deer last weekend and had some great games. The junior high boys basketball team have a game in Delia on Thursday, January 12. Good luck Mustangs.

Considering winter is in full force it is important to think about having the right kind of gear in your vehicle. A vehicle cools off very quickly when you are stuck on the side of the road. Believe me I know, we spent the night in the vehicle during a blizzard once and it wasn’t as pleasant as you might think. Do you have extra winter clothes, mitts, toque, scarf? Pick up an emergency safety kit for your vehicle or look up a list on the internet and make one up of the necessities you already have. Do you do a walk around your vehicle before you set off on the road? These are pretty simple things that can make all the difference in the world if you ever get stuck in a blizzard.

It’s tough getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. By Sunday we will be half way through January!

Have a good week and drive safe.
