Yes, it’s that time of year again. On Oc­to­ber 3, 2016, the Mor­rin Multi Club held their first meeting of the year in Mor­rin, where they elected a new team of club ex­ec­u­tives. The po­si­tions in­clude: Pres­i­dent: Me­sha Olsen, Vice Pres­i­dent: Jack Adams, Sec­re­tary: Quinn Nel­son, Trea­surer: Danielle Varga, His­to­rian: Kali Bedu-Olson, Reporter: Sa­man­tha Mc­Kee, the Dis­trict Coun­cil Rep­re­sen­ta­tives: Sam Gri­d­ley and Serena Michie, and Gen­eral Leader: Me­lanie Nel­son.

The club also has de­cided that they will be do­ing the fol­low­ing projects for the 2016-2017 year: equine, ca­nine, small en­gines, band, pho­tog­ra­phy, in­di­vid­ual sewing, in­di­vid­ual sports, in­di­vid­ual stop mo­tion an­i­ma­tion, out­door ad­ven­ture.

Dur­ing the first meeting, mem­bers dis­cussed items such as the Co-op Till Tape Pro­gram, which last year made $408.40, and the West­ern Lead­ers Fo­rum/Teen Track be­ing held on March 17, 18 and 19, 2017 at the Shaw Con­fer­ence Cen­tre in Ed­mon­ton.

The sec­ond meeting was held by the Mor­rin Multi Club at Mor­rin School on Novem­ber 7, 2016, where they dis­cussed- mem­ber­ship fees, vol­un­teer work for the Lions Break­fast on De­cem­ber 4 at the Mor­rin Hall, the Clubs Ski Trip on Fe­bru­ary 21, 2017 at Canyon Ski Hill in Red Deer.

It was also de­cided that the club will have their Christmas Party at Mor­rin School on De­cem­ber 10, 2016. Me­lanie Nel­son ex­plained that she ap­plied to Chi­nook Fi­nan­cial who will be do­nat­ing money for ev­ery vol­un­teer hour the club com­pletes. Me­lanie also men­tioned that she has ap­plied for fund­ing from FCC for $500.
