Smoke Signals

The Drumheller Mail - - SPORTS - Daisie Smith 403-823-7074

We have been having such beautiful spring-like weather, but one has to be very careful as it is very icy and we don’t need any broken bones.

The Pioneer Trail Singers went to Hillview and Sunshine Lodge on January 19. They sang many old-time songs which were enjoyed by all the residents. We would like to have more members especially men as long as you can carry a tune and are interested in and attend practice as much as possible.

It is with great sadness we have lost another of our members, Grace Fullerton passed away January 18. Sympathy is extended to her husband Barry and family. A celebration of life will be held later.

This seems like a bad month as I have just been informed Jim Criger passed away, sympathy goes out to his wife Myrtle and family.

Bridge was held Thursday, January 19. First went to Russ Chaprun and Dan MacDermid (3320), second to Jennie DeMille and Don Robertson (3140).

We continue to play canasta, crib and pool on a daily basis so please feel free to come join us and visit over a cup of coffee.

The ladies were busy before Christmas, they have made eight baby quilts and 600 dolls and balls for the children in Roatan.

We also made 40 stuffed cats for the needy children in Drumheller, The Salvation Army appreciated this very much.

The ladies keep busy making quilts, if anyone is interested and would like to give a helping hand tying knots it would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has any Freson Bros. Smart Shopper coupons they do not use we could use them here.

Don’t forget our monthly meeting Tuesday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. Please make an effort to attend.

See you at the Crib Tournament Saturday, January 28.
