Hand Hills Grapevine
Hello Hand Hills…It is feeling a lot like Spring these last few days but we should not get used to it because we know how Mother Nature works. But Goodbye January, bring on February!
Where was this reporter in October? How did I not hear? Why didn’t someone phone? Kyle Rosin and Tammy McMillian had a Baby Girl, Zoey Alexandra, who was born on October 6. Belated Congratulations to Kyle and Tammy and big sister Erica, Jaycee and Brother Kirk. Congratulations to Grandpa and Grandma Wes and Vivian, Allister and Roxie McMillan. I am sure that the four months of cuddles that everyone has had are so precious. Give her a hug from the Hills!
Another bundle of Joy has entered the world that is sure to have Eleanor Rosin East bound and down. Mackenzie Irene Coventry was born to Charlene and Jim just last week. Big Brother Jaxon has a new baby sister. Congratulations to all.
Congratulations to Tyler and Dezerae Walton who were married on January 21, in Drumheller. The Waltons have built a new house about 4 miles north of Homestead Coulee. Ron and Kim must be so happy to have Tyler and his wife back close to home.
The Annual General Meeting of the Hand Hills Club is this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Please plan to attend.
There will be another Work Bee on Friday, February 3 at 1:00. Help is always needed.

We all play for Canada! These last couple of weeks has been a marathon of hockey for this household and many other for sure. It makes life so good. Watching the grandkids play hockey is a great pastime and we are not alone in this. It just brings families together in such a way that is indicative of our Canadian Heritage. My Mum, who is almost 86, got to enjoy watching two of her great grandchildren play hockey in Hanna last week and at the same time had a visit with other family members. I know that there are lots of grandparents out there who are enjoying the hockey life so send me your stories. We all watched our sons and daughters play and now it is the next generation that is filling the spotlight. Provincials and league playoffs are gearing up so stayed tuned and send me your Hockey News! I am sure that many will agree that all of the Minor Hockey Games that were played this past weekend in Hanna and area were so far above the All Star Game Weekend for entertainment value and much more worthy of this reporter’s time. Go Teams Go!
Thanks to all who signed up for the Casino at the end of March. A Special Mention to Charlotte and Richard Preston on their initiative to get a crew of their own to work the late count room shift. This made Day Lenfestys’ recruiting that much easier. Like I have said quite a few times, we have the BEST volunteers. Thank –you! Till next week… Remember to plan a special treat for your Valentine! February 11 at the Hills would be a good choice.
