Ver­dant Valley Ag So­ci­ety rec­og­nized

Ver­dant Valley Ag So­ci­ety re­ceived two mar­ket­ing awards at the “Al­berta As­so­ci­a­tion of Agri­cul­tural So­ci­eties” (AAAS) Pro­vin­cial Con­fer­ence in Ed­mon­ton, Feb. 3 to 5, 2017.

There were twenty award cat­e­gories in all. This is the first year that the lo­cal Ag So­ci­ety has en­tered the mar­ket­ing com­pe­ti­tion at the AAAS An­nual Con­fer­ence. The Ver­dant Valley Ag So­ci­ety was rep­re­sented at the con­fer­ence by Pat and El­son McDougald and Diana and Lyle Rowe.

Ver­dant Valley was rec­og­nized with a 1st place in the New Pro­gram or Event for their Draft Horse Com­pe­ti­tion that was held on Au­gust 13, 2016. The pur­pose of this cat­e­gory is to il­lus­trate new, un­proven or in­no­va­tive projects, ed­u­ca­tional pro­grams, events, agri­cul­tural shows, etc. that are pro­duced or co-pro­duced by the Agri­cul­tural So­ci­ety. The cat­e­gory was for At­ten­dance/Par­tic­i­pants over 100 peo­ple and un­der 350 peo­ple.

The se­cond 1st place award Ver­dant Valley re­ceived was in the Event/Or­ga­ni­za­tion Photo Col­lage de­pict­ing the 2016 Draft Horse Com­pe­ti­tion. The pur­pose of this cat­e­gory is to show an in­for­ma­tive, in­ter­est­ing, or unique dis­play of pictures from the Agri­cul­tural So­ci­eties events and or­ga­ni­za­tion. All en­tries in this cat­e­gory were judged as one class.
