The Women’s Bon­spiel will be well un­der­way as you read this col­umn and Oys­ter Night is on sched­ule for to­mor­row night so you don’t want to miss it. There will be great curl­ing be­ing played all week at the rink as well as good home­made soups and pies with your burger and fries at the con­ces­sion. Make your way up to the rink and join in on the fun.

The 4-Her’s are get­ting their public speak­ing skills warmed up for their an­nual Public Speak­ing date of Fe­bru­ary 19. It is set to start at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall so if you want to see our fu­ture in ac­tion take a wan­der into town and see what they are up to on that Sun­day.

The Mor­rin Lions are host­ing their an­nual Pan­cake Break­fast this com­ing Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 12 from 9:00 am to noon. They have de­cided that since Fe­bru­ary is the month of the heart then they will be do­nat­ing all the pro­ceeds from this break­fast to the Heart and Stroke or­ga­ni­za­tion. Come on down and en­joy a delicious break­fast and sup­port a good cause. They will is­sue a do­na­tion re­ceipt if you would like one.

Next on the cal­en­dar for the curl­ing club in Rum­sey will be the Mixed Dou­bles to be held from Fe­bru­ary 23 to 25. For this event you will need a 2 per­son team, one male and one fe­male. Call Brooks and Jackie Watts at 403-368-2357 to en­ter.

The Rum­sey Drop-in is host­ing a Coy­ote Derby this com­ing Satur­day as well as a fundraiser and would en­cour­age all our good hunters to sign up for a day of fun. You can con­tact me at 403-368-3820 or mp­ for a regis­tra­tion form. It is a one day hunt and there will be prizes for the most coy­otes brought in by that Satur­day evening. We will be serv­ing a chili sup­per for all the hunters so give me a call or email for more in­for­ma­tion.
