The Women’s Bonspiel will be well underway as you read this column and Oyster Night is on schedule for tomorrow night so you don’t want to miss it. There will be great curling being played all week at the rink as well as good homemade soups and pies with your burger and fries at the concession. Make your way up to the rink and join in on the fun.
The 4-Her’s are getting their public speaking skills warmed up for their annual Public Speaking date of February 19. It is set to start at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall so if you want to see our future in action take a wander into town and see what they are up to on that Sunday.
The Morrin Lions are hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast this coming Sunday, February 12 from 9:00 am to noon. They have decided that since February is the month of the heart then they will be donating all the proceeds from this breakfast to the Heart and Stroke organization. Come on down and enjoy a delicious breakfast and support a good cause. They will issue a donation receipt if you would like one.
Next on the calendar for the curling club in Rumsey will be the Mixed Doubles to be held from February 23 to 25. For this event you will need a 2 person team, one male and one female. Call Brooks and Jackie Watts at 403-368-2357 to enter.
The Rumsey Drop-in is hosting a Coyote Derby this coming Saturday as well as a fundraiser and would encourage all our good hunters to sign up for a day of fun. You can contact me at 403-368-3820 or email@example.com for a registration form. It is a one day hunt and there will be prizes for the most coyotes brought in by that Saturday evening. We will be serving a chili supper for all the hunters so give me a call or email for more information.
