DVSS, Girl’s se­nior Dynos take week­end bas­ket­ball tour­na­ment by storm

The DVSS se­nior girls bas­ket­ball team did well at a tour­na­ment in Brooks Fe­bru­ary 3 and 4. The Sr Dynos are; back row (l to r); Coach Jen Rau­gust and Bray­den Peters; third row; Gil­lian Carey, Mikaela the tour­na­ment had a rough start on Fri­day when they lost to Cal­gary Chris­tian School. Satur­day they went on to beat Cal­gary Acad­emy and Cal­gary’s Run­dle Acad­emy, win­ning the con­so­la­tion side of the tour­na­ment.

Af­ter a win against Trochu on Wed­nes­day, the Girl’s se­nior Dynos won 2 out of the 3 games played dur­ing the week­end tour­na­ment in Brooks. The tour­na­ment started Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 3 and wrapped up Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 4 afternoon.

As­sis­tant coach, An­drew Neu­man said, “The girls had a good week, de­feat­ing Trochu on Wed­nes­day night in league play and then win­ning the con­so­la­tion side at their tour­na­ment at St. Joseph’s Col­le­giate in Brooks on the week­end.”

Ac­cord­ing to Neu­man,

Head coach Jen Rau­gust said, “It was a pretty suc­cess­ful week­end. I think the girls had fun and it was a pos­i­tive week­end for them.”

Coach Rau­gust said that there was a skills com­pe­ti­tion that they com­peted in dur­ing the tour­na­ment that the Dynos did well in.

“The ladies next see ac­tion at home this Wed­nes­day against Three Hills School. Tipoff is at 5:15. Then the Dynos are off to Hanna for their Sweetheart Tour­na­ment on Fri­day and Satur­day. Their first game is at 12:45 against St. Joseph’s Col­le­giate and then they play Vik­ing High at 7:00 pm and they round out Fe­bru­ary with an away game in Acme on Mon­day the 15th.” Neu­man said.
