Drumheller Dragons slide continues
The Dragon’s losing streak now extends to six games over the weekend falling to the Brooks Bandits and then the Sherwood Park Crusaders.
The Dragons were in Brooks on Friday, February 3, to take on the Bandits. They only mustered one goal from Brady Risk, 5:20 into the sec- ond period stole it 7-1.
On Sunday, February 5, the Dragons headed north to take on the Crusaders in the afternoon. This time the Dragon had a jump out of as the Bandits the gate and went up 1-0 in just 29 seconds, with a goal from Cody Young. Tyler Kreklewich scored on the powerplay at the 4:10 mark, however the Dragons were trailing 4-2 by the end of the first period.
Cody Young scored his second of the game late in the second period to make it 4-3, but the Crusaders scored two more in the third period.
Jordan Taupert scored unassisted with 3:35 remaining in the game, but 6-4 was as close as the Dragons could get. Dane Dow stopped 43 shots in the loss.
The Dragons hoped to snap this streak on Tuesday night as they headed to Olds to take on the Grizzlys, results not available at presstime. This Friday they are back home to play the Bandits.
