Congratulations to Shayla Sandum and Drew Tolman on their recent engagement. Family and friends are invited to a bridal shower for Shayla at the Dalum Community Hall on March 18 at 7pm.
If anyone would be willing to help with writing the news please contact Carey Taubert 403-787-3500 and we can add you to the list. Some people are currently writing more than one month of the year so if we could find a few more people to help out that would be great. Thanks! It helps to keep you in the loop of what’s happening in Hussar. The money that is raised by submitting the news goes to the Hussar Municipal Library.
For anyone interested in ordering plants from AVB, the Wheatland Crossing Grad class is running a fundraiser until February 14. The money raised goes towards not only this Grad year but the Grad years that follow. If you have ordered plants through this fundraiser at Hussar School in the past it’s the same idea. However, you must order by the flat this year, you cannot order individual baskets. But you can always combine with others!! There are order forms available at the Hussar Arena Concession or you can get one from anyone from the Grad class or pick them up at the School office. Thanks in advance for your support.
Darlene Fandry would like to thank Clay Armstrong at Armstrong Auto. Where else but our little town can you have a flat tire after parking, phone the garage and within half an hour have your truck picked up with a smile and brought back to you with the tire changed.
The Wheatland Thrashers Midget team won first place in the Simons Valley tournament this past weekend in Rosemary. They won an intense game in the final round against Calgary going into double overtime with a final score of 3-2. The team had fun staying in Brooks on Saturday night.
Come cheer the Thrashers on in their next home game in the Hussar arena on Sunday, February 12 at 4:45 p.m.
John and Rennie Jensen enjoyed a 3 week holiday south of the border. The weather was cooler than normal but a good time was had.
The Jensen’s spent the next 2 nights with Elsie Treacy. The three of them took a quick trip out to Maricopa for lunch and a little gambling. They took a long way home enjoying some of the sights. Once more no luck was had. From here they headed back to Las Vegas for 2 nights and then made their way home. They had lunch in Tremonton on their way home. They had had so much snow. The parking lot at the restaurant had been plowed. The piles of snow were at least 10 feet high. Sounds like it was a wonderful get away!
Clay and Colleen Armstrong travelled with a couple from Strathmore to Las Vegas from January 28 till February 2. While in Vegas they tried indoor skydiving, drove little sporty three wheeled street legal cars, saw a few shows and had a great time!
Do you have any old eyeglasses laying around the house just collecting dust? If you would like to donate them to a good cause there is a box at Chinook Financial in Hussar for donations. The Hussar Lions Club will be taking them, any kinds can be brought in, broken ones even. The eyeglasses are fixed up and given to people who wouldn’t be able to afford a pair of glasses in underdeveloped countries.
