This past weekend, February 3 – 5, the annual conference of the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies was held in Edmonton. Lyle Rowe, president of the Verdant Valley Ag Society, was our society delegate and attended the conference with Diana Rowe and Elson and Pat McDougald. The Verdant Valley Ag Society won two first place special event marketing awards at the Provincial Conference. The display showed pictures and information of the Chore Horse event that was sponsored last summer at the Community Center. Well done.

Don’t forget the Family Fun Day on Sunday, February 12, starting at 1:00 pm. We will have lots of snow now for our horse drawn sleigh rides and the weather is going to moderate they say. We will have a big bonfire, wiener roast, hot chocolate and fun for everyone. Everyone is welcome to come and there is no charge. The event is sponsored by the Verdant Valley Ag Society.

Happy birthday this week to Tanner Poland on February 11, Keith Wilson on February 12 and Brody Hatt on February 15.
