Spring Sports Re­cre­ation and Arts Expo of­fers some­thing for ev­ery­one

The Spring Sport, Re­cre­ation and Art Expo is com­ing, show­cas­ing all kinds of ac­tiv­i­ties avail­able in the com­mu­nity.

The Expo is on March 8 at the Bad­lands Com­mu­nity fa­cil­ity. Kim Mas­son, pro­gram co­or­di­na­tor at the Bad­lands Com­mu­nity Fa­cil­ity says so far about 17 ex­hibitors, and count­ing, have signed up.

“The fall one is typ­i­cally big­ger but we have some in­ter­est­ing ones,” she said.

She says what is mak­ing this year’s event unique is the are some new and dif­fer­ent ex­hibitors. Along with ex­pected sports such as base­ball or soc­cer, she says there are ex­hibits for netball and roller derby for ex­am­ple. There is also ev­ery­thing from pi­ano lessons and the Drumheller Royal Ball. Three will also be demos.

On dis­play will also be the of­fer­ings from the town at the Bad­lands Com­mu­nity Fa­cil­ity and the Aquaplex. This is ev­ery­thing from bad­minton to paint and wine nights.

“Ev­ery­thing will be up­com­ing pro­grams with us that you can reg­is­ter for that day,” she said.

Mas­son said the expo is a valu­able event for res­i­dents to see what is of­fered.

“It is a great way to see what is all hap­pen­ing in your com­mu­nity, there registration go­ing on. It is also an op­por­tu­nity to see new things peo­ple are do­ing in the com­mu­nity.

The expo goes on March 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. and is free to at­tend.

All kinds of ac­tiv­i­ties of­fered in the com­mu­nity will be on dis­play at the Spring Sports Re­cre­ation and Arts Expo.
