The Zone 2 U19A Ringette team will be host­ing the Pro­vin­cial Cham­pi­onships at the Rock­y­ford Sport­splex this week­end (lo­cal girls, Taneil Kalb­hen and Jes­sica Clyne play on this team). Things get started on Fri­day, March 3 at 9 a.m. with the Zone 2 team ver­sus St. Al­bert. Good Luck to all.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to the Rock­y­ford Rough­necks Pee­Wee hockey team who won both of their play­off games on the week­end and move on to the next round. Awe­some job ev­ery­one and con­tin­ued good Luck.

Th­ese ses­sions are de­signed for be­gin­ners or any­one who wants to be­come more com­fort­able us­ing this so­cial me­dia. Bring your own com­puter or use one of our lab lap­tops. All three work­shops are from 3 un­til 5 p.m. on th­ese dates: March 22 (Get­ting started), March 28 (Build­ing your friends list and ex­plor­ing the news feed), March 29 (Face­book pri­vacy and set­tings). Visit the Rock­y­ford Li­brary dur­ing op­er­at­ing hours be­tween Fe­bru­ary 28 and March 16 to see some artis­tic work be­ing cre­ated in our com­mu­nity. Cre­ativ­ity can be ex­pressed in so many dif­fer­ent ways, us­ing paint, wool, thread, metal, cam­eras, or ce­ment. If you have a project you would like to share dur­ing this ex­hibit, bring it in to us. We are open Tues­days, noon to 6; Wed­nes­days and Thurs­days, 2 un­til 8.

Al­berta Prairie COW (class­room on wheels) is com­ing to the Rock­y­ford Li­brary from 10:00 a.m. un­til 3:00 p.m. on March 21. Par­ents or care­giv- ers and chil­dren 6 years old and un­der are wel­come to par­take in sto­ries, games, and great read­ing fun at this drop-in event. Or pack a pic­nic lunch and stay the day! There will also be a Legacy Li­brary pre­sen­ta­tion to the com­mu­nity at 2:00 p.m. that day. This is the last year that this pro­gram is op­er­at­ing, so don’t miss out.

Hope Bridges So­ci­ety will of­fer an up­cy­cling pro­gram at the Rock­y­ford Li­brary, be­gin­ning at 7:00 p.m., on Thurs­day, March 16. Call Hope Bridges di­rectly at 403-983-3640 for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion and to reg­is­ter.

Reg­is­ter your child for Art Camp at the Rock­y­ford Li­brary dur­ing the Easter break. The camp runs daily from 10:00 un­til 3:00, Tues­day through Fri­day, April 18 to 21. Al­though more specif­i­cally suited for chil­dren aged 6 to 12, older par­tic­i­pants are wel­come. Vicki My­ers re­turns to lead the group in a fun few days of ex­plor­ing dif­fer­ent av­enues of artis­tic ex­pres­sion.

Kids Can Paint! at the Rock­y­ford Li­brary on Satur­day, April 1 (10:00 to noon). As­pir­ing artists aged 7+ will be guided in cre­at­ing their own acrylic master­piece. Space is lim­ited.

Mark your cal­en­dar to re­serve July 3 to 7 for this year’s Drama Camp. Fur­ther in­for­ma­tion will fol­low, and registration will open in April.
