We have many families away enjoying the week with no school and we will hope that lots of stories are included in the news when they get back.
Many hockey and ringette teams with members from our area are now into the Provincial playdowns. Fans keep cheering! Good luck to all hockey teams that are in playoffs. We are rooting for all our home town kids and their teams!!!
A big thank you to Erica Thew and Angela Treacy for organizing a new format for Alumni this year! With the closure of the school, we weren’t able to play volleyball this weekend. So the ladies came up with a new idea! This year teams of 4 entered and they curled, played crib and played ping pong. Congratulations to Class of 2000 consisting of Lisa Armstrong, Shannon and Kyle Gordon and Brady Kaiser for winning first place in the tournament. Congrats also to Class of 2012 for placing 2nd. Sounds like it was a great day. Hopefully the girls will keep this going and next year we can see some of the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s graduates join in on the fun!
The Hussar Sundowners will once again be having a “Pub Night” plus meeting on March 16. If you are a senior please come and enjoy – remembering your own “green” koolaid or whatever else you might like to drink.
Everyone is invited to the Hussar Community Hall on March 18 for a 50’s Supper and Dance. We need to know in advance how many are coming so that we can prepare the Roast Beef Sup- super! Please call Wendy Kaiser, Peter or Kristen Anderson, or Pam Collett and let them know how many tickets you would like. Dressing up is strongly encour- aged! Prizes will be awarded for best costume and best dancers! Looking forward to a fun evening out! Can’t wait to see everyone there!
The Hussar Sundowners will be sponsoring a fun evening April 7 at the Centre featuring The Good Timers. The evening will kick off with a pot-luck supper at 6:00 and entertainment at 7:00. All are welcome who want to have a good time. Last week I got the name wrong so if you noticed that you win a prize!!
The community organizations meeting will be held on April 23 at 7:30 at the Hussar hall so mark your calendars. This meeting has been an annual event where the groups report about their plans for the upcoming year, what they did in the past year and their financial status. Each group in Hussar is asked to send a representative to speak on behalf of their organization.
The History Book is in the final stages as we work towards getting all of the pictures set up. The work by Kristen Anderson and Pam Collett can’t be measured and only the thanks of our community when the printed version is here will let them know how much we appreciate them. If you have any additions now is the time or it will be too late.
If you have news for next week please call Pam Collett or Rene Jensen.
Congratulations to Class of 2000 as they were the winners of the Alumni Tournament. This year your team of 4 had to curl, play crib and play ping pong! L-R Shannon Gordon, Kyle Gordon, Lisa Armstrong (Missing Brady Kaiser)
A bus load of Hussar Seniors spent the day in Calgary on February 14 at a High Risk Investment meeting at the Cash Casino.
