The Drumheller Mail - - AROUND TOWN - Patrick Kolafa

Over 200 young people in grades 10-12 from across the East Central Region will gather at the Badlands Community Facility to converse with professionals on career choices.

The Junior Achievement Southern Alberta is hosting the World of Choices Career Forum on Wednesday, March 8. Students from Drumheller, Hanna, Three Hills and Acme will have the chance to chat with 30 mentors representing a wide array of professions.

The goal of the event is to expose youth to a variety of career possibilities, learn about what is involved in the job, what the qualifications are and how to acquire the proper education to pursue those career goals.

This is the third annual World of Choices Career Forum. This year organizers are incorporating the theme “The Fourth Industrial Revolution.” It reflects on how advances in technology mean for young people, how it is changing the world of work and how young people can be prepared for them.

The World of Choice Career forum goes on Wednesday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ryan Semchuk of Canalta Hotels is emceeing the event and the keynote speaker is provided by RBC.

Junior Achievement Southern Alberta has provided students in East Central Alberta education on financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workplace readiness for more than 50 years.
