Li­brary to hold Sec­ond Gala event

The Drumheller Li­brary So­ci­ety wants to mark Canada’s 150th birth­day by giv­ing every­one in Drumheller a Li­brary card for the year.

That is the goal of the So­ci­ety’s Evening at the Li­brary, com­ing up this Satur­day night at the Drumheller Pub­lic Li­brary.

This is the sec­ond gala event for the Li­brary. It is held ev­ery two years. The evening fea­tures mu­sic, hors d’oeu­vre and a cash bar. Lo­cal busi­nesses and in­di­vid­u­als have been sup­port­ive with do­na­tions of great silent auc­tion as well as a few spe­cial live auc­tion items.

The Li­brary So­ci­ety func­tions sup­port the Drumheller Pub­lic Li­brary and over the years has pur­chased items and equip­ment for the li­brary as well as sup­port it many pro­grams.

The fo­cus of the funds raised from the event is to pro­vide a free one year mem­ber­ship start­ing July 1 to all res­i­dents.

An Evening at the Li­brary goes this Satur­day, March 11 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tick­ets are avail­able at the Li­brary or from board mem­bers.
