Hello winter, again. I knew it was too soon to put away the winter gear. There is ice under that snow so tread very carefully.
The Munson 300 Raffle Draw winner for March 4 was Lisa Rawlusyk. Congratulations, Lisa thank you for supporting the Community Association.
Congratulations to the Morrin Senior High Girls Curling team who won provincials this past weekend in Lethbridge. The team consisting of: Shelby Primrose, Kayla Adams, Taylor Olmstead and Amanda Holowath, carried on the three year tradition of bringing home the gold from Provincials. A special thank you to Betty Primrose their very dedicated coach and all the parents and fans who supported them throughout the season. Good job ladies you made us very proud.
There is a Morrin School Parent Council meeting on March 13 at 7:00. Attending the council meeting is a very good way to keep in touch and having input with what is happening at our school. This week is the Rumsey Mixed Bonspiel as curling wraps up for the season. Don’t forget oyster night will be Thursday, March 9 don’t want to miss out on the delicious meal.
If you haven’t already got your tickets for the Aussie Rules Dueling Pianos on March 25 in Morrin, Melanie tells me it’s too late as they are all sold great news I’m sure very fun evening.
The Morrin Figure Skating Carnival will be held on March 12 at 2:00 pm Morrin Arena. This year’s theme is Morrin Dance Party. The skaters work very hard all year polishing their skills, come out and support this great event.

The Morrin Lions will be celebrating 25 years of service this year. The club started in February 1992 with 22 members and Ken Dawson was the initial president. The Morrin Lions would like to invite the public to help celebrate this milestone on Saturday, April 8 at 7:30. There will be displays, music by “The Great Plains” and some treats. Tickets are available from the Lions members and at Mountain View Credit Union.
On April 1 starting at 7:00, the Munson and Area Community Association will be hosting a “Wedding Dance”. That’s right dig out your wedding duds from years gone by and come on out for an old country style wedding dance. There will be midnight lunch, a gift table (silent auction) and great wedding dance music to shake your hips to. For more information, tickets and reserving a table contact Terra at 403823-4510.
